Great New Eateries and Places to Stay

There are hundreds of pages of restaurants and hotels in the new 17th edition of Where to Find It, Buy It, Eat It In New York.  Here’s a quick look at some of the new favorites:

The Beagle (162 Ave A, 212/228-6900): Former Oregonian Matt Piacentini has developed a menu which pairs creative American dinners with classic cocktails. Open Tuesday through Sunday for dinner.

CrossBar (Limelight Marketplace,47 W 20th St, 212/359-5550): This Todd English newbie is heavy on pork. Open daily for lunch and dinner; late night bar menu.

The Dutch (131 Sullivan St, 212/677-6200): Owner/chef Andrew Carmellini, basking in the success of Locanda Verde, has opened an American restaurant and oyster room. Open Monday through Friday for lunch; dinner nightly.

Crosby Street Hotel (79 Crosby St, 212/226-6400):  88 guestrooms, screening room, private garden

Eventi (851 Ave of the Americas, 212/564-4567): Kimpton property, 292 guestrooms, free wine hour     

Distrikt Hotel (342 W 40th St, 888/444-5610): celebrates New York districts in its design and service; 155 guest rooms

Hotel Indigo (127 W 28th St, 212/973-9000): 122 guestrooms; rooftop bar, colorful

The MAve (62 Madison Ave, 212/532-7373): 72 rooms; minimalist, pet friendly
